Text and frame in PSP

Dedicated to Linda fractalinda McCarthy.

I know this is a dark image, but light is enhanced by the addition of dark. I started with a medium tone, but the lightness of the center called for a dark tone, so dat's what I did.

Used masked iterated coloring layers to apply separate textures to individual leaves.

1,372 layers total.

Ha ha...just kidding....

I'm open to critical comments.

This is really pretty. You're right, the dark accentuates the light, and makes it more dramatic. Ha, you had me on the 1,372 layers. I was thinking "Why the f..." well, you know. =p
Anyway, very beautiful!

That is beautiful. I wish I knew half as much about masking as you do... mind doing a tutorial? ;-)

But seriously... excellent.

Good to see you back. Thanks for the nice comments.

Check this out...I'm taking Janet Parke's masking course and this is what it's like. To say I knew masking was like saying I was a juggler because I could keep three oranges going at the same time. Then Janet comes along and says, "Oh, really? Well...here...have another orange, two apples, four bowling balls, a mad cat...and just for fun, let's do a hoola hoop with the right foot." I mean, this lady K N O W S masking, lol...

Oh, btw...Jeff has recently written a new masking tut. It's on the tutorial page. Check it out.

Heh, I really wish I could take those classes.

I did see Jeff's masking tut, actually, and it helped, but I don't think I could use those tecniques to obtain results like these.

Very, very nice image. The lighting is fine, because the best part is the center, and that is where it is perfectly lit. Also, darkening the edges may have gotten rid of some grains, and it doesn't impact it alot.

I know this is going to be one of my votes. :)
